16.05.2019 | CROC and 1C:Enterprise helps in optimizing the production management in LocoTech Group

CROC IT company transferred four plants of the Russia's largest locomotive repair company LocoTech to the operations management using 1C:ERP Enterprise Management 2 system. As a result, planning and operational management tasks for a number of production sites have been standardized and automated. The new system is used by more than 4000 employees, and about 120 thousand documents are generated monthly. The introduction continues for another three plants. It is also planned to replicate the system in LocoTech service locomotive depots.

The project was implemented within the previously signed cooperation agreement between LocoTech and 1C, which provides for the extension of use of a unified information system use based on "1C: ERP Enterprise Management 2" by the group of companies for the purposes of integrated production planning and managing the locomotive life cycle.

The operations management system (SMS) combined the accounting and production structures of all plants. A competence centre for the development of automated production based on the expert group of advanced factory in Ulan-Ude has been established. Main production services, which are engineering and design departments and production facilities, operate in a single information space. Uniform control mechanisms help to promptly retrieve information about the cost of production and the resources used in manufacturing.

Due to the wide reach and three-shift working schedule, the system is available 24x7. It is integrated with the electronic production certificate (production process visualization system), accounting, human resource management, RRI (regulatory and reference information) and other related subsystems. Common regulatory base and data from the group of companies is used in enterprise operations management. Using the IT system the enterprise management receives a clear picture of the material and labour costs with tracking performance indicators of all plants.

"Our main task is to a steadily increase the production efficiency and improve cost reduction by controlling the consumption of materials, rhythm and quality. To achieve this objective it is necessary to increase the transparency and accuracy of planning. The SMS system has helped to automate the material resources management at all the production stages, control the execution of the production programme in real time. This is extremely important given our specificity, because the need for material and labour resources is determined during the locomotive repair. The system also allows comparing and analysing the performance indicators of enterprises, allowing to identify and disseminate best production practices," told the managing director for the development of digital technology in LocoTech LLC Dmitry Sergienko.

"We are pleased to help companies improve their operations. Any ERP system requires a lot of data to operate correctly, but the time for collection and preparation is never enough. We have put a lot of effort to make the process simple and understandable for the factory workers. One of the main difficulties in the implementation of the project was to implement a system without interrupting production. I would also like to thank the staff of the LocoTech GC for involvement in the project. Really a lot of specialists took part in creating the system - from the shop foremen to factory directors. By working together we have been able not only to solve functional problems, but also make the system suitable for all its users. Now our team is ready to solve the most difficult problems in the implementation of business applications in large machine-building enterprises,” said director of business applications in CROC IT company Evgeny Zavyalov.
