The Rostov-on-Don Electric Locomotive Repair Plant (RERZ, part of the LocoTech Group of Companies) increased production by 40% in the first half of 2018 compared to the same period last year. As part of his visit to the Zheleznodorozhny District, Dmitry Chernyshov, Deputy Head of the City Administration for Economics, visited the plant and talked to the management and staff of the enterprise.

At the moment, the plant is undergoing large-scale production upgrading. Thus, the RERZ recently received a new equipment for electric machine production - a vacuum-impregnating unit worth about 5.5 million rubles. In general, in 2018, within the framework of the investment program, it is planned to allocate about 87 million rubles for the development of the plant, which is 2.5 times more than last year. 

The plant pays special attention to the social sphere. About 2 thousand people work here, where 490 are young specialists. The average monthly salary in the first quarter was about 36 thousand rubles. About 22 million rubles were spent on labour protection measures in the first half of 2018. Regular events are held at the factory to train managers, specialists and personnel of mass professions. 

Dmitry Chernyshov noted the importance of attracting young personnel to production and stressed that this would help to bring the company to a qualitatively new level of development. 

During the visit, he held a meeting with the plant team and spoke about the development of the city. 

- Thanks to the World Cup and the attraction of significant amounts of funding from the regional and federal budgets, over the past 5 years we have been able to realize a lot, - the Deputy Mayor for the Economy addressed the staff. - Economic indicators show good momentum. For example, the industrial production index for the same period in 2017 amounted to 128.6%. But there is still a lot of work ahead and we are setting ourselves ambitious plans. 

Also, the deputy mayor informed the participants about what was done in the city at the request of the plant’s employees at the last meeting in March. For example, he spoke about plans for the development of "river trams", about the system of paid parking lots and tow trucks already operating in the city. Dmitry Chernyshov noted that in many respects thanks to the residents of the Zheleznodorozhny district, renovation of the Sobino park was started, which is scheduled to be completed by December of this year. 

Rostov-on-Don Electric Locomotive Repair Plant is one of the oldest Russian enterprises in the railway industry. At present, the plant carries out medium and major overhaul of electric locomotives, repairs of line equipment, and also manufactures products of machining production.
