02.08.2018 | Shareholders of Transmashholding and LocoTech-Service have combined their shares and ownership interests for effective management and long-term development

The owners of 100% of JSC Transmashholding and 100% of LocoTech-Service LLC combined their investments and jointly became shareholders controlling 100% of the authorized capital of the largest Russian manufacturer of equipment for rail transport JSC Transmashholding and leader of maintenance of the rolling stock - LocoTech-Service LLC.

The company's share capital is distributed between a group of Russian businessmen and the French company Alstom Holdings. 

JSC Transmashholding and LocoTech-Service LLC will retain their legal independence. The management, led by Director General Kirill Lipa, will continue to work in the Transmashholding Group of COMPANIES, Yuri Degtyarev will retain the position of Director General of LocoTech. Shareholders are planning a gradual operational integration, as a result of which the merger should turn into the fourth world largest in terms of revenue group specializing in the creation, production and maintenance of rolling stock for rail vehicles. At the end of 2017, the total revenue of the two groups of companies amounted to about 260 billion rubles, according to the forecast for 2018, it will reach more than 320 billion rubles.

The merger of Transmashholding and LocoTech reflects the general trend towards integration characteristic of global machine building in recent years and is aimed at increasing competitiveness in the global market. In addition, it will allow forming a full-fledged proposal for the supply of locomotives for the needs of OJSC Russian Railways under life cycle contracts; increase the export potential of the manufacturer due to the service. Combining the scientific and technical potential of companies will help to increase the effectiveness of investments in research and development and reduce the time frame for the implementation of research projects. 

Shareholders and management also expect that the use of data on the operation of the Russian fleet of locomotives at Locotekh’s disposal will make it possible to increase the competitiveness of the new equipment created at Transmashholding enterprises.
