06.07.2018 | LocoTech received a new locomotive maintenance centre in Ussuriysk

LocoTech group of companies received a new locomotive maintenance centre (LMC) in Ussuriysk after the renovation. The opening ceremony took place on July 6, 2018.

Head of the Far Eastern Railway Nikolai Maklygin, First Vice Governor of Primorie Alexander Kostenko, Director of the Far Eastern Branch of LocoTech-Service LLC Dmitry Zherebtsov, representatives of construction and contracting organizations opened the new facility.

The locomotive maintenance centre in Ussuriysk will become part of the service locomotive depot (SLD) Sibirtsevo of the Dalnevostochny branch of the LocoTech-Service company.

Construction work was carried out by the Bamstroymechanizatsiya Management Company. Over 800 million rubles were invested by OJSC Russian Railways for the renovation.

The existing LMC at the Ussuriysk station, built in 1980, was designed for TO-2 maintenance of 2-section locomotives, and operated at the limit of design capacity.

After renovation, the locomotive maintenance centre significantly expanded its production cycle and increased workload. Its main specialization is maintenance as per TO-2 cycle of up to 15 thousand 600 sections per year for diesel locomotives of different series, as well as the TO-2 of electric locomotives of 3ES5K series up to 1 thousand 800 sections per year with simultaneous equipment.

At the same time, these figures consider the prospective traffic volumes for freight diesel locomotive transportation serving the Ussuriysk - Grodekovo - Suifenhe, Ussuriysk - Gvozdevo - Hasan lines.

To fulfill the planned scope of work in accordance with the specifications, three through gutters have been provided for servicing 3-section locomotives, two gutters are provided for servicing diesel locomotives and one is of combined type for servicing diesel locomotives and electric locomotives.

Thus, the new LMC will provide uninterrupted railway communication by the Far Eastern Railway in the face of growing traffic volumes.
