Ulan-Ude locomotive and car repair factory (UU LVRZ, part of LocoTech Group) mastered the repair of a new series of locomotives - EP1P of passenger type. The first locomotive of this series repaired by the factory already works on the passenger train at Ulan-Ude-Irkutsk route.

Ulan-Ude LVRZ holds the record among the LocoTech factories by the number of mastered series. EP1P is already the 10th type of locomotives. To master the repair of the new electric locomotive type the factory workers within a short time had a great work on studying the locomotive design, diagrams, features of repair, nuances in providing commodities and materials.

It is planned that by the end of the year UU LVRZ will master the repair of another two series of locomotives - repair of passenger electric locomotive EP1 No.063 and average repair of electric locomotive for shunting E5K.

“The factory has performed locomotives repair only for freight rolling stock so far. Repairs of electric locomotives of passenger type imposes a special responsibility on workers and requires uncompromising work quality and high standards of technological discipline», said the Deputy Director General for operations of LocoTech Alexander Mavrin.

Ulan-Ude locomotive and car repair factory occupies a leading position among the 10 locomotive repair factories of LocoTech. This is one of the largest industrial enterprises of the Republic of Buryatia. It performs middle-term and capital overhaul of locomotives, warranty service and upgrading of locomotives with the extension of service, repair of components and assemblies, production of spare parts, development of the new repair technologies.

A large-scale development programme is being implemented at the factory. Thus, investments in upgrading of production facilities at Ulan-Ude LVRZ in 2017 exceed 226 million rubles. These funds will be spent mastering the new types of works, purchasing and manufacturing of more than 300 pieces of equipment. This includes planned acquisition of bridge cranes, compressors and machinery equipment, upgrade of the furnace, production of non-standard equipment.
