Locomotive technologies LLC, Transmashholding JSC and Bombardier transportation GmbH have signed an agreement of intent on cooperation in the field of locomotive modernization and maintenance.

The agreement was signed at the XI International railway business forum "1520 Strategic Partnership".

Alexey Belinsky, General Director of Locomotive technologies, Kirill Lipa, General Director of Transmashholding, Laurent Troge, President of Bombardier transportation GmbH and Michael Forer, President of Bombardier transportation (Locomotives, LRT, Service) GmbH made a non-binding agreement of intent providing for cooperation in the field of Henschel locomotives modernization and maintenance.

The locomotives owned by Egyptian national Railways were produced in 1970 – 1993 by ABB Henschel AG, the legal predecessor of Bombardier transportation GmbH. It is assumed that the modernization of the locomotives will be carried out with the use of diesel and auxiliary equipment of the Russian production. The partners agreed to establish a working group to define the workload issues as well each party involvement in the project.
