The Ulan-Ude locomotive and car repair plant (UU LVRZ, a member of the LocoTech group) mastered the production of new products in 2018.

The company started repairing and forming a wheelset on rolling bearings and a traction motor NB-514E of an electric locomotive 3ES5K. This is a completely new wheel-motor unit for the plant.

The development of wheelsets and traction motors will ensure the rhythm of deliveries to the LocoTech Group service locomotive depots, and will also contribute to the growth in the number of workplaces at the UU LVRZ.

The use of wheel-motor units with rolling motor-axial bearings (MAB) will improve the reliability and service life of the traction gear and traction motor, increase the life of the wheelset due to the lack of wear of the axle journals under the friction motor-axial bearings, increase the efficiency of the electric locomotive.

In October 2018, the plant carried out repairs of the traction motors NB-418K6 and NB-514, which were accepted by the interdepartmental commission in the scope of major repairs with the appointment of a new service life. The new type of repair will allow to “rejuvenate” the fleet of traction engines on the railway network.

In 2019, the plant will have to master a lot of new products, including the gear housings of the wheel-motor unit with rolling MAB and the bearing housing of electric locomotives 3ES5K. In addition, UL LVRZ will produce tanks of 2TE116 and ChME3 series diesel locomotives, certification of which is scheduled for March next year, and the company will work with a large amount of the foundry products.

The Ulan-Ude locomotive and car repair plant is a leader among the LocoTech locomotive repair plants. This is one of the largest industrial enterprises of the Republic of Buryatia. It carries out medium and capital repairs of locomotives, warranty service and upgrading of locomotives with extension of service life, repair of components and assemblies, production of spare parts, development of new repair technologies.
