19.09.2017 | LocoTech will provide 6 ths. locomotive section with Smart Locomotive system before the end of the year

LocoTech Group of Companies will connect 6 ths. locomotive sections to the intelligent data analysis Smart Locomotive system before the end of 2017. This was announced by Deputy General Director for strategic development Igor Seleznev at IoT Summit in Kazan.

Currently LocoTech uses the Smart Locomotive diagnoses equipment operation at about 1.3 ths. sections of the locomotives. That is about 25% of the traction rolling stock fleet of the Russian railways, equipped with microprocessor control systems. The system is implemented in 20 service locomotive depots.

Mr. Seleznev noted that the digitalization of services and production is an essential tool for enhancing the effectiveness of the locomotive fleet maintenance: “With the advent of Industry 4.0 IT determine the development and business optimization opportunities. Therefore, digitalization is one of the strategic directions for enterprise development. The main project of LocoTech in this area is the Smart Locomotive system.

Smart Locomotive system is being implemented since 2016. Its core functionality is as follows - on locomotives equipped with microprocessor control systems the special sensors are installed, the data from which go to intelligent analysis platform. Currently the trial operation of anomaly search module has been launched, which allows to analyse 260 parameters of diesel locomotives 2TE116U and 3TE116U, 270 parameters of 2TE25KM and over three hundred parameters of diesel locomotives TEP70U and TEP70BS. The system detects more than 60 types of violations in the operation of the equipment and operating modes. It is planned to adapt the system to work with the data with another 4200 locomotive sections before the end of the year.

Due to the system implementation, the specialists of LocoTech can quickly track the technical condition of the locomotive fleet, without waiting for serious breakdowns and heavy repairs. The ability to predict failures will increase the efficiency of the fleet and infrastructure.

Smart Locomotive is implemented on intelligent data analysis platform Clover IIoT, using the neural networks training technology. The experience of General Electric and Siemens has been analysed during system development.

IOT World Summit Russia is a meeting of the world IoT leaders, experts and leading experts of industry 4.0.
